Speech, White Supremacy, and Insurrection
Tuesday, February 9, 6:00pm PST

The January 6 insurrection at the United States Capitol brought to the fore the threat that white nationalist forces pose to our democracy. Join the Capps Center for a conversation about these forces, their history, and what can be done to resist them. Our guests will be UC Free Speech Fellows, Ryan Coonerty (Santa Cruz County Supervisor) and Melissa Barthelemy (Public History doctoral candidate), and Dr. Katya Armistead (Assistant Vice Chancellor and Dean of Student Life).

The event is sponsored by the Walter H. Capps Center and cosponsored by:
Assistant Vice Chancellor and Dean of Students
Center for Cold War Studies and International History
Civic and Community Engagement
Multicultural Center
Straight White American Jesus
Taubman Symposia in Jewish Studies
UC National Center for Free Speech and Civic Engagement
